01 / The problem
The buyer has to convert the price in their head and doesn’t know at what rate.
The converter takes its rate from its own source, not from an official one.
In popular converters, manual rates and price endings are either paid extras or missing.
Without Shopify Payments the checkout charges in dollars, and nobody says so.
Cursy solves this with one daily rate.

The ECB rate or your own fixed rate for euro. For hryvnia: Monobank or PrivatBank (card sell rate), the NBU official rate or a fixed rate.
A markup in percent and a minimum rate, “not lower than X”. A fixed rate is final: markup and minimum do not apply to it.
Each currency has its own rule: up or to nearest, a step and an ending of 0, 9 or 99. The unit price is rounded first and then multiplied by quantity, so the cart total always equals the sum of lines.
3 items at $10.00 at a rate of 45.9131, rounded up to a whole hryvnia: unit ₴460, line ₴1,380. With ending “9” the unit price is ₴469.
Once a day at 09:00 store time. The rate does not change during the day.
Buyers switch between hryvnia and euro without reloading the page. Prices appear already converted, with no flash of dollars. If any price can’t be converted exactly, the whole page stays in dollars.
If the rate source does not respond, Cursy retries until 09:20 and keeps yesterday’s rate. If the new rate differs by more than 5%, it waits for your confirmation.
If the checkout charges in another currency, the buyer sees a notice. Cursy warns you about another converter on the storefront and about Shopify Markets. “Disable Cursy” is one button.
